    Roles

To be able to add a Warranty to Customer Items you will require to have 1 of the following Roles:

    • Job or Sales Staff

    • Pos Staff or Admin

Linking a Warranty to a Customer Item

Once you have setup the Warranty Types and Warranty Usage Types you can begin to assign Warranties to Customer Items. Warranty Type will now appear on the Customer Items screen.

Once I've filled in the Customer Item details and selected the Warranty Type, it will be Linked to the Customer Item as soon as I Save the Customer Item. To change this association, you have to unlink the Warranty from the Customer Item.

The Warranty Expiry Date will be filled in in accordance with the Customer Item Purchase Date and the Term defined on the Warranty Type record.

Looking a bit closer at the Warranty Details

There are 2 icons on the screen now that might be unfamiliar.

    This is the Unlink icon

and this is the Show Details icon

Once the Warranty Usage Type has been supplied the standard warranty details and specific details can be accessed by clicking on the Show Details icon.

If you are only viewing the Customer Item, this will also in view only mode. If you Edit the Customer Item, you can now Unlink the Warranty Type from the Customer Item and Edit the Specific Warranty.

Note that Editing the Specific Warranty Details, and the Linkage to the Warranty Type are only committed to the Customer Item if you Save the changes.

    Warranty Filters

There are also new Filters available on the Customer Items page

This shows the ‘Has Current Warranty’ filter applied.

Note that these filters are cumulative.

This filter allows you to search the contents of the Warranty Type description
