How to setup Warranty Types for Customer Items

Warranty Types are part of the required setup for entry of Warranties on Customer Items.

Warranty Types define the key attributes of a Warranty, such as:

    • Warranty period
    • Is the Warranty offering On Site coverage
    • Are parts covered under the Warranty
    • Is labour Included or extra.
    • Whether the Warranty Type relates to a specific Supplier only

Each Warranty Type can be Added or Deleted as long as it has not been used on a Customer Item. Once it's been used on A customer Item you may only Deactivate it. Any Warranty Type can also be Reactivated at any time.

Once it's Deactivated it will be marked as such:

It will then no longer be available to assign to a Customer Item

You may reactivate the Warranty Type using the standard system process

Allowing the Warranty Type to be selected again.

Once the Warranty Type has been applied to a Customer Item it can no longer be Deleted

Warranty Type are displayed in the order of the Warranty Type Code.
