Warranty Types are part of the required setup for entry of Warranties on Customer Items.
Warranty Types define the key attributes of a Warranty, such as:
- Warranty period
- Is the Warranty offering On Site coverage
- Are parts covered under the Warranty
- Is labour Included or extra.
- Whether the Warranty Type relates to a specific Supplier only
Each Warranty Type can be Added or Deleted as long as it has not been used on a Customer Item. Once it's been used on A customer Item you may only Deactivate it. Any Warranty Type can also be Reactivated at any time.
Once it's Deactivated it will be marked as such:
It will then no longer be available to assign to a Customer Item
You may reactivate the Warranty Type using the standard system process
Allowing the Warranty Type to be selected again.
Once the Warranty Type has been applied to a Customer Item it can no longer be Deleted
Warranty Type are displayed in the order of the Warranty Type Code.
