This article is for organisation administrators and implementers who configure how Infusion behaves when other systems connect through the external API.
General Integration Settings control API-wide defaults for payment terms, whether customer bank account details can be sent through the API, and the identifier returned on API records as the Integration Link. These settings apply at licensee level and affect external integrations — not day-to-day use of Infusion in the browser.
In this article you will learn:
- Who can view and edit General Integration Settings
- Where to open the settings screen
- What each setting does and when to change it
Who Can View and Edit General Integration Settings
To open General Integration Settings, your user must be able to access Settings and have permission to view general integration settings.
To Save changes, your user must also have permission to set general integration settings.
The Organisation Admin role, is the only licensee role with these permissions.
Infusion operators, Infusion support users, and system operators can also view and edit these settings when working on your licensee. They use the same General Integration Settings screen.
If you can open Settings but do not see General Integration Settings under Integrations, your user role or licence package may not include access. Contact your organisation administrator or Infusion Support.
Where to Find General Integration Settings
- Select Settings from the main menu.
- Find the Integrations group.
- Select General Integration Settings.
API Defaults
The API Defaults section controls default Payment terms applied when a customer is created through the external API.
Payment terms option |
What it does |
|---|---|
System default |
Uses the default payment terms from Customer Settings when a customer is created through the API. |
Number of days |
Applies the number of days you enter (between 1 and 365) as the payment terms for API-created customers. |
Cash sale only |
Sets payment terms to cash sale only for API-created customers. |
Given day after EOM |
Sets payment terms to a specific day of the month after end of month. Enter the day (between 1 and 31) in Day of month. |
When you change Payment terms away from System default or Cash sale only, Infusion may pre-fill Number of days or Day of month with a starting value. Review the value before you save.
These defaults apply when customers are created through the external API. They do not change payment terms on customers you create manually in Infusion. To set defaults for manual customer creation, use Settings > Customers > Customer Settings.
Integration Link
Integration Link shows the licensee identifier included on many external API responses (for example customers, products, customer invoices, staff, and suppliers).
- The field is read-only on this screen. You cannot change it here.
- If a legacy identifier is stored for your licensee, Infusion displays that value.
- If no legacy identifier is stored, Infusion displays your current licensee UUID.
Integrations use this value to associate API records with the correct licensee. Share it with your implementer when they connect an external system to Infusion.
Bank Account Permissions
Allow Customer Bank Account controls whether the external API can accept customer bank account details.
- When turned on, API requests can include customer bank account number, reference, code, and particulars.
- When turned off, the API rejects requests that include bank account details.
When Allow Customer Bank Account is turned on and a bank account number is supplied, the API request must also include at least one of reference, code, or particulars. The bank account number must be valid for your region.
Turn Allow Customer Bank Account on only if your integration needs to collect or update customer bank account details through the API. Leaving it off helps prevent unintended bank account data from being submitted by connected systems.
