You may notice that some document, transaction, or record numbers are higher than expected, with gaps in the sequence. This can occur following an architectural system upgrade and does not indicate any loss of data.
To maintain performance and ensure unique numbering, the system reserves number ranges in advance. During a system upgrade or restart, any unused reserved numbers may be skipped, causing the numbering sequence to jump forward.
What this means:
- No transactions, documents, or records have been lost.
- No duplicate numbers have been created.
- All existing data remains accurate and intact.
- The only impact is gaps in the numbering sequence.
This behaviour is expected and ensures all record numbers remain unique and audit-safe.
