Creating a Pricebook Rule
Open the Settings module and locate Pricebook Import Rules. This opens the existing Pricebook rules, and new ones can be added using Add.
-
Rule Name – This is the name of the rule within Infusion. Giving it an easily identifiable name makes it easier to know which supplier Pricebook rules have been created. Each rule must have a unique name.
-
Supplier – The options in the dropdown are the list of suppliers already entered in. Select the appropriate supplier from the dropdown list.
-
Data Format – This is how is the data in the Pricebook file from the supplier is separated. It can be either Comma or Tab Delimited, meaning the data is separated is separated by commas or tabs.
-
File includes header row – Enable this if the Pricebook file has a header row. This ensures Infusion doesn’t miss a row of data.
Once those options have been set, the fields on the Pricebook need to be mapped. Mapping the fields allows the importation of the Pricebook file from the supplier
Choose the type of information that’s in the first “column” on the Pricebook file using the dropdown column. If the “column” isn’t relevant, choose IGNORE. Each field can only be mapped once.
If it makes it easier to view and understand the order, consider opening the Pricebook file in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel. This will display the content in columns, potentially making it easier to understand the order of the columns in the file.
Add a new field choose the Add icon. This icon only appears on the last mapped field. Each field on the Pricebook file needs to be mapped before the file can be imported.
