Creating a quote that includes a product which has been superseded by another is the same as creating a quote for any product.
To quote for older products that have been superseded by newer ones, if there is still available stock, enable the run out option on Quotes.
Much like other sale type of transactions, quotes can be set to run out products that have been superseded by newer ones. This can be set or removed using the option in Product Settings.
By default, the run-out option is disabled on Quote transactions.
Before adding products to the quote, ensure that the location has been chosen.
If there is no available qty as the default is off then Infusion will advise the following message:
Choosing No uses the entered product code, which has been superseded. Alternatively choosing the button Use Superseded Code will swap the chosen product code to the superseding product code.
If there is available stock and it is set to run out, the obsolete item can be added to the quote as normal, without the prompt displaying
