This article is for users who manage product stock levels for example inventory controllers, purchasing staff, and administrators.
Infusion provides several reports and an export to help you review stock movement, identify overstocked products, and decide what action to take.
This article explains the options for assessing slow moving stock:
- Product Valuation — includes last sold dates when run in detail
- Product Movement — includes a Stock Turn column
- Product Reorder - By Sales — shows negative recommended reorder quantities for overstocked products
- Products With Stock Status — a CSV export with Last Sold and Last Receipt dates
Where to Find These Options
From the main menu, select Products to open the product list.
Select More Options (the overflow menu on the page header), then choose the report or export you need:
- Product Valuation, Product Movement, and Product Reorder - By Sales are under the reports section of the overflow menu.
- Products With Stock Status is under Export in the overflow menu.

If a report or export does not appear, ask your administrator to review your role permissions for product reports and exports.
Product Valuation
Use Product Valuation when you want to see stock on hand and valuation figures alongside when each product last sold and was last received.
- Select More Options > Product Valuation.
- Set As at Date to the date you want to value stock.
- For Report Type, select Detail. The Include last sold and receipt dates option is only available for detail reports.
- Ensure Include last sold and receipt dates is selected.
- Set your product filters (for example Product Type, Product Group, or Stock Location) as needed.
- Run the report.

Review the Last Sold and Last Receipt columns. Products with old last sold dates and stock still on hand may be slow moving. Combine this with on-hand quantities and valuation to understand the value tied up in slow moving stock.

Summary report type shows totals by group or location but does not include individual last sold and receipt dates. Use Detail when assessing slow moving stock at product level.
Product Movement
Use Product Movement to review how much stock moved through sales, receipts, transfers, and other activity over a date range. The report includes a Stock Turn column for each product.
- Select More Options > Product Movement.
- Set From Date and To Date for the period you want to assess.
- Optionally filter by Product Type, Group, Sub Group, Product, Location, or Preferred Supplier.
- To include products that are in stock but had no movements in the period, select Include In Stock Products with No Movements.
- Run the report.

Review the Stock Turn column. A lower stock turn generally indicates the product is selling more slowly relative to the stock held during the period. Compare stock turn across products in the same group or location to identify relative slow movers.

Products with no sales and no average stock balance may show a blank Stock Turn value.
Product Reorder - By Sales
Use Product Reorder - By Sales to compare current stock levels with sales over a recent period and see a recommended reorder quantity. When you are assessing overstocked or slow moving products, negative recommended reorder quantities are especially useful.
- Select More Options > Product Reorder - By Sales.
- Set Assess sales in the last (days) or enter a custom Date range.
- Set Order stock for (months) to match how far ahead you normally stock for.
- Select Include negative reorder quantities so overstocked products appear on the report.
- Set any other filters you need (for example Location or Supplier).
- Run the report.

Review the Recommended Reorder column. A negative value means Infusion considers you hold more stock than needed based on recent sales and your order period. The lower (more negative) the number, the more overstocked the product is likely to be.

Include negative reorder quantities is selected by default. If you turn it off, products with negative recommended reorder quantities show zero instead and may be harder to spot when reviewing slow moving stock.
Products With Stock Status Export
Use Products With Stock Status when you want a spreadsheet of all products with stock status, costs, and movement dates. This is useful for sorting, filtering, and sharing outside Infusion.
- Select More Options > Export > Products With Stock Status.
- Set your filters (for example Product Type, Product Group, Product Sub Group, or product range).
- Optionally select Include Stock Levels and a Product Location (Stock) to include location-specific quantities.
- Optionally select Only Include Tracked Products to limit the export to products that track quantities.
- Select Export.

Open the downloaded CSV file. Key columns for assessing slow moving stock include:
Column |
What It Shows |
|---|---|
In Stock |
Quantity on hand (when stock levels are included) |
Available |
Quantity available after allocations |
Last Sold |
Date the product was last sold |
Last Receipt |
Date the product was last received |

Sort or filter the file by Last Sold to find products that have not sold recently. Compare Last Sold and Last Receipt with In Stock to see whether old stock is still sitting on the shelf.
Choosing the Right Option
If you want to… |
Use |
|---|---|
See last sold and receipt dates on a printed or PDF report with stock valuation |
